Itinerary
Yellow Water Billabong is located at the end of Jim Jim Creek, a tributary of the South Alligator River. The South Alligator river system, which is the largest in the Park, contains extensive wetlands that include river channels, floodplains and backwater swamps.

About one third of Australia's bird species are represented in Kakadu National Park, with at least 60 species found in the wetlands. Whistling ducks and Magpie Geese are the most abundant.

Yellow Water Cruises provides you with a unique opportunity to experience this diverse and sublimely beautiful area and it's associated wildlife. The canopied cruise boats operate year round and are skippered by experienced guides.

Fantastic cruise and very good tour guides.

This tour is an absolute must if visiting Kakadu. We did the evening tour and got the wonderful changes of colours. Also all the animals were active.....

This cruise must absolutely be done when visiting the region ! It is very beautiful and interesting.
Just to mitigate my comment, I would suggest that the guide don't speak all the time, without a second of silence. Sometimes it is nice to lesson to the sounds of the nature :) Anyway, he was kind, funny and interesting.
Also, I find the price a bit too high, compared with similar cruise before.

What a wonderful experience doing the sunset tour at Yellow Water. The staff and skipper were fantastic and the scenery and wild life including crocs, birds and buffalo was amazing highly recommend.

I got the feel that the guide was unwell as he kept lossing his voice and didn't answer question that were asked by some of the guest on the boat. Overall the experience was enjoyable seeing lots of crocs, bird life and flora.

The cruise was lovely and the commentary, though a bit exhausting, was very informative

This was a great experience. We saw a lot of wildlife - darters, whistling ducks, kites, egrets as well as 15 crocodiles! Our guide pointed them out and positioned the boat so we were able to see and photograph them. There was a magnificent sunset, which we had a fantastic view of because the guide had positioned the boat well and we were stationary for the entire period the sun was setting.

This was one of the highlights of my visit to Kakadu National Park. Birdlife and crocodiles were seen in abundance, and the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide was wonderful. I particularly liked that they put on an extra boat rather than cram everyone into two boats. This enabled all on board to move around and get good views of points of interest idenitifed on both sides of the boat.

Very professional, friendly staff, who give very comprehensive information about this area. Such a beautiful place, and the tour is a great way to see the park.I would recommend to friends.

Sorry I don't really like making negative comments but this cruise is like a Disneyland experience without the pazazz. Far too crowded, very difficult to video lovely birds when little kids are screaming in your ear - normally u just walk away but nowhere to go. Over-rated and expensive. Cannot recommend! I feel you will screen this comment but you did ask me - I never volunteered- disappointed.

The woman guide was better than the fellow we had at 6.45 that day- not that he was bad but she was better had more knowledge able to answer more questions
Reviewed by: Tony, September 2009

the booking process was fine. the boat was overcrowded, I couldn't sit with my friend and couldn't see because there were 2 people between me and the water. For the price they charge, I think it was a rip off

A very enjoyable tour. We needed to change the time we booked at the last minute and White Water Cruises were very accomodating

The Yellow Water Cruise was one of our highlights during a recent holiday to Darwin & surrounding areas (including Kakadu). I would not hesitate in recommending this tour to our family and friends. And if we are lucky enough to return to the NT, this will be a 'must do' again.
