The first thing you will notice about your Platinum cabin is the abundance of space, almost twice the size of a Gold Twin Cabin. By day your cabin is configured as a private lounge with deluxe lounge seating, a table and two ottomans. By night you will sleep easy as the lounges convert to a comfortable bedroom with either a double bed or twin beds.

Feeling peckish? Step out of your spacious cabin and into the Platinum Club where an all inclusive menu is prepared by on-board chefs using fresh local fare. Our seasonal menu features mouth-watering dishes such as saltwater barramundi and grilled kangaroo fillet. Platinum Service fare includes hearty breakfasts, two course lunches and three course dinners. Vegetarian, childrens and limited special dietary meals are available (advise when booking). You may also choose to complement your meal with our selection of wines and beverages which are all included in your fare.

Our Advance Purchase Fares offer a discount off Gold Twin and Gold Single Service Fares (not available for Platinum Service). Platinum Service guests on The Ghan receive complimentary pickup and drop-off transfers up to a 50km radius from the train station.
Gold Service guests on The Ghan are offered a complimentary coach transfer service between the Darwin Rail Terminal and selected hotels on arrival into (or departure from) Darwin. Please refer to The Ghan coach service transfer schedule for the pick up times.
Off train tours in Katherine, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy (Ghan Expedition only) are exclusively tailored for guests travelling on The Ghan. These tours are included in your fare and are designed so guests can get the most out of the short stopover. An optional scenic flight/tour of Uluru is also available from Alice Springs for The Ghan Expedition (four day, three night trip) from Darwin to Adelaide (Apr-Oct)
Platinum and Gold Service passengers will receive a little booklet onboard offering information about the touring options available, simply book your spot on the chosen tour at the Outback Explorer Lounge at your leisure during the trip.
