Day 1: Welcome to Uluṟu (Ayers Rock) – Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas)

On arrival at Ayers Rock Airport you will be transferred to the resort (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm or instead prior to 3.00pm with alternative afternoon touring, see below†). Travel to the mystical 36 domes of Kata Tjuṯa (the Olgas) and commence the walk to the Valley of the Winds, heading first to the Karu lookout. With views across many of the domes of Kata Tjuṯa and out into the sacred Aṉangu men’s area, you’ll be in awe of this natural wonder. Later, take in a magnificent sunset over Kata Tjuṯa while enjoying sparkling wine.

Hotel: Outback Pioneer Lodge (Budget), Outback Pioneer Hotel (Standard), Desert Gardens Hotel (Superior) or Sails in the Desert Hotel (First Class), Ayers Rock Resort, 2 nights.
Day 2: Kings Canyon

Drive through sandhill country towards Kings Canyon, stopping for a breakfast at Kings Creek Station. In Kings Canyon make the rocky climb with your guide to the rim of the canyon to be rewarded with marvellous views over Watarrka National Park. Alternatively, you may wish to explore the boulder-strewn canyon floor, an easier walk. Return to Ayers Rock Resort.

Included Meals: Breakfast
Day 3: Uluṟu Sunrise & Sacred Sites – Farewell from Uluṟu (Ayers Rock)

Watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight while enjoying a warming cup of tea or coffee. Afterwards board your coach and travel around the base of Uluṟu in comfort as your Driver Guide provides commentary about the numerous sacred sites and features to be found at Uluṟu. Continue by coach to the Kuniya Walk where your Driver Guide will escort you to the beautiful Mutiṯjulu Waterhole. View Aboriginal rock paintings and learn about the area as your Driver Guide points out some native flora and explains the Aboriginal and European history of Uluṟu. Later visit the Uluṟu – Kata Tjuṯa Cultural Centre, where you can learn about Aboriginal culture and see Aboriginal arts and crafts. You will be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your onward flight (flights to depart after 12.30pm).
