Itinerary Your adventure begins 1 hour before first light, with the balloon’s inflation as the sun lights up the rugged MacDonnell Ranges. Whilst floating gently in the air you will appreciate the vast remoteness and scenery of the Australian Outback. Wildlife, such as big red kangaroos are seen nearly every day as your balloon crosses spinifex grasses, mulga scrub and cattle stations.
The setting over the remote desert, serviced only by a few bush tracks enhances the sense of adventure that you will experience. The location also ensures that you are treated to the spectacular colours of the early morning dawn over the MacDonnell Ranges. On most days you will also see Australian wildlife, particularly red kangaroos, in their natural environment.
After landing our passengers enjoy sparkling wine and tropical fruit juice accompanied by a selection of muffins and slices, cheese and biscuits and fresh fruit. This is served at a desert campsite to complete the morning's experience before you are returned to your accommodation.
The tour includes return transfers from any accommodation in Alice Springs.
Exclusions *Additional charge payable on the day
The total price includes a mandatory Civil Aviation Safety Authority Insurance. This insurance charge is $A30 and applies to all passengers regardless of age. This is payable directly on the day by cash, credit card or EFTPOS on the morning of the tour.
Fitness Level Physical fitness is not a requirement to enjoy a ballooning adventure, but passengers must be able to climb up and into the basket (approx. 1.2 metres in height) unaided using the basket foot holes and stand for the duration of the flight.
What To Bring Camera.
It is dusty in the bush! Suitable outdoor clothing (not white), enclosed footwear and a hat are recommended. It is no colder in the balloon than on the ground but it can be chilly before sunrise. A light jacket is recommended from April to October and mid winter very warm clothes may be necessary. Loose items such as dangling jewellery and scarves are not permitted once passengers reach the launch site and dis-embark from the bus.
